"We made it to our final week at the Circa '95 Pop-Up Shop! Truly, we couldn't have done it without you. The support from the community, artists, neighborhood folks, to the custodial staff at Intervale green. We are blessed to be a part of the artistic & entrepreneurial spirit going on Uptown. This week we celebrate our 5 month residency. This isn't the end, just the beginning. We have a bunch planned for the future and we are grateful for every opportunity we get to create music, share our art and represent Hip-Hop culture." - www.Circa95.comCaptured + Edited by @BrandTROY

A few weeks ago, I received an email from UFO Fev, the title said TMTYL.zip, and in it a link to download it. What I knew was that TMTYL stood for Take Me To Your Leader, and was the next project releasing from Fev, hosted by DJ Super Nova.
With little info outside of what I mentioned, and a tentative release date (8.21.12), I was just to enjoy the music by one of my favorite new artist...but below are my thoughts.
UFO Fev - TMTYL (Take Me To Your Leader)
Mind, Body & Soul - Fev lays a very introductory verse over the "Bird On A Wire" instrumental produced by Harry Fraud. The hook is really dope, and catchy: "I want your mind, body & soul/ Forget that other stuff that you thought you needed before/ Now I'm in control."
How It's Gotta Be - Fev raps heavily over 50's classic "Thicker Than Water" instrumental. DJ Super Nova lends a few mixes and rewinds after Fev's first few bars. I quote Fev: "Focused on my mission/ Lord forgive us, ni**as give us no permission."
M.I.L.E. - Fev's flow is vicarious of the best over an original beat by Double Nicklez. I quote Fev: "Got my own tape on rotate 'cause 'yo sh*t is weak/ Make my trunk shake, no pump fake/ I'm ballin', hear my sneak's!"
Chi's Day feat. Red Inf - The title, dedicated to his cousin Chi, as I believe it was recorded on his birthday. Fev speaks some words before Red Inf's verse, who raps first on this track. They rap over Tupac's "Got My Mind Made Up" instrumental, Red Inf's raps are aggresive, and Fev comes in second to finish off.
Playa, Playa feat. Yarshall Artz - Original beat by Kon Hathaway. Yarshall Artz rhymes first, and Fev rhymes second: "Heard your new shit, boy you need to tie your laces/ On tracks like races."
TMTYL offers other notable tracks like "UGK Sh*t", "We See You", "High Boyz", and "Don't Save Her" that bang as well. I would've liked to hear more DJ'ing, such as the mixing on "How It's Gotta Be", it adds layers to the project. I feel as though this was a meal for the fans (I took it!), as Fev ready's Return Flight, and then the highly anticipated Propaganda release which features full production from Buda and Grandz.

"Borough native Ouigi Theodore opened his men’s clothing store, The Brooklyn Circus, as part of his mission to refine the urban image." - AppleOuigi Theodore of The Brooklyn Circus was given the stage at NYC's Apple Store on 14th Street, to speak for their Meet the Business In-Stores with Julian Alexander. I've known Ouigi for 6 years now, and he is on a humble journey, but still in stride of The BKc's The 100 year Plan. It was great to hear him speak to a packed room filled of Souls who just want to make a difference in the World.

"He was pretty known in his area, a lot of people saying hello to him..."
Often I try to pry on the doors of experience and information behind the man who is Rayquon Elliot, known to many as Stack Bundles. Here's what I found a few months back when I emailed Lauren Fleishman who shot him for The FADER in 2006.
BrandTROY: I saw that you photographed the late Stack Bundles. I just wanted to know in a few words, how was it to work with/around him?
Lauren Fleishman: Hey Troy. Stack Bundles was an interesting guy, but I didn't have much time to spend with him. We were working on a story on NY rappers that also included Maino and Papoose. Stack Bundles was very, very difficult to get a hold of and the shoot with him almost didn't even happen. He got back to us on the very last day possible, and I traveled out to The Rockaway's with a writer to interview and photograph him. The pictures had to go to the press that day, so it was all kind of rushed. He was pretty known in his area, a lot of people saying hello to him, and he was very easy going and polite. I was really sad to hear he had been killed.
BrandTROY: Thank you for sharing your story.
...damn, I wish Stack Bundles was still here. Life is real.

About a week ago, Soraya Yd from the cast of HDNet's TV Naughty but Nice, model, and friend of mine called me for some creative advice, because she's participating in a modeling contest out of LA. They wanted her to pose for a photo that represented New York City with chic, sexy, and in extraordinary style.
After a few ideas or so, we came up with the "Bombshell Liberty" Photoshoot (click to see larger photo) starring Soraya Yd, and shot by yours truly.
